We are a Discalced Carmelite Secular community (OCDS) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, within the Oklahoma Semi-Province of the OCD Friars.
We meet the third Saturday of the month. Our morning begins with Morning Prayer, followed by Community Formation. After Community Formation, we have a business meeting and then break into our different formation groups. Studies range from the basics of Carmel and the Liturgy of the Hours to Church documents and the writings of our Carmelite saints.
In June, our usual meeting format is replaced by a retreat.
We currently have around thirty members, ranging from Aspirants, who are in their first period of discerning a vocation to Carmel, to Definitively Professed members, who have completed the six-year formation process.
